Sumana was born and raised in the south and came to Pennsylvania from Charlotte, NC. She did her undergraduate studies at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC, earning a B.S. in Biology. She then completed her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

An integral part of the PA GI patient care team, Sumana is ACLS and BLS certified and is affiliated with the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA).
